MyFitness Pal

A Brief Review of MyFitnessPal

One of our favorite apps is MyFitness Pal. For best results, we suggest using it in conjunction with our Brittany, our Registered Dietician. She works under close medical supervision to help you reach your health goals. Even if you are not enrolled, keeping an accurate food journal has a variety of benefits:

Allergies and Sensitivities

An accurate food journal can be tremendously helpful when trying to determine how your GI system reacts to certain food. If you have a skin reaction–such hives–that seems to be triggered by certain food choices, your food journal could play a critical role in determining the cause.

Weight Loss

It’s easy for small snacks, treats, and meals to add up during the day. Keeping this log can help you keep track of what you are eating and help you get control over bad habits.

Picky Eaters

It’s hard enough to keep up with your own diet, but if you have little ones that are struggling to maintain a healthy weight, parents can use MyFitness Pal to make sure that your child is getting the necessary servings of fruits, veggies and proteins they need for proper development. Food logs can be a valuable tool for physicians as well, especially with pediatric patients.
