Are You Looking for a New Primary Care Doctor?

Our New “Mom Docs” are Accepting New Patients.

Choosing a primary care doctor for yourself or your family is an important first step in managing your and your family’s healthcare.  Your primary care physician is your medical home base.  Your primary care doctor is who you visit for most of your medical needs, including routine screenings and wellness checks, non-emergency illnesses like sore throats and earaches, and the person you talk to about any health questions or concerns you may have.  Your primary doctor is also the person that refers you to a medical specialist if one is needed.

Some patient primary care relationships can last decades and involve the entire family, while others may only last a short time due to a move or change in insurance.  No matter how long you plan to stay with a primary healthcare provider, the relationship is a significant one.  You will want to choose a doctor you feel comfortable with, someone with knowledge in the areas that meet your families healthcare needs, a person you feel you’ll be able to effectively communicate with (especially if language is a factor), a PCP who is “in-network” for your health insurance plan, and who is accepting new patients.

At River Bend Medical Associates we look forward to providing you with the best in primary healthcare.  We understand that for young families and moms, scheduling time to find a new primary care doctor and bringing kids in for appointments can be challenging.  Choosing a family medicine doctor as your primary care provider can help. Family practice doctors are able to treat patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, they provide comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all, conditions, diseases, and parts of the body.  Our new doctors who are also moms understand the challenges of motherhood and busy families. These new family medicine Mommy Docs are now accepting new patients.

Kristian Borofka

Family Physician

“Mom Doc” Kristian Borofka understands the needs of young families and busy moms.  Her love and interest in medicine began long before medical school; at the age of 16, she was diagnosed with Celiac disease (an autoimmune disorder related to a common food product gluten). This inspired her life-long interest in the interplay between lifestyle changes and physical and emotional health.

Kristian Borofka was born and raised in Clovis, California, 3 hours south of Sacramento. She went to medical school at Touro University California after she completed a BS in Biochemistry at Santa Clara University. While in medical school and reside/imagncy her passions grew and now encompass LGBTQ+, geriatric, and women’s health issues. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, knitting, exercising and swimming, and cooking.

Dr. Borofka is a family physician who provides care to patients of all ages.  Her favorite part of medical practice is establishing relationships with her patients and families and helping individuals better understand and manage their health. She is excited about accepting new patients and their families and is looking forward to helping her patients as part of the River Bend Medical team in Greenhaven.
